Don’t let the back-to-school section at Target get you down. The autumnal equinox doesn’t happen until September 22. At 10:29 p.m. to be exact.
Yes, September feels like the new January, and if you have kids, the school year is a tough bell to tune out. But summer is such a precious, longed for time of year, why let it go before it really goes?
It’s still summer, my flip-flop-loving friends.
There’s plenty of time to add to that warm-weather wish list … plenty of time to be delighted by long days, short shorts and surprising books.
Ignore the school busses and the mums lined up in the front of the grocery store, forget your mother’s voice telling you not to wear white after Labor Day.
It’s summer until you and your chaise lounge decide it isn’t.

I wish. If the kids don’t go back to school, I might get arrested. Still going to make the best of the weekends though!
